Description

Pattern 1855 bayonet for the Lancaster bar on barrel carbine. Very attractive brass pommel and crossguard. Leaf spring for catch attached by screw. Leather grips are checkered and in very good condition. Distinctive pipe back blade in very good condition with some minor nicks and staining. O/A length 29 inches. Blade 24 inches. MRD 20mm. Solingen made with partial WKC knight’s head logo and Solingen proof mark. Ricasso shows British broad arrow acceptance mark, Birmingham proof and bend test “X”. Pommel is numbered 1114. Unique scabbard with brass locket and chape. Locket has Birmingham proof below frog stud and is numbered 9050 on the top. Leather body in very good condition with tight stitching and a few bumps to the surface.
