Original Dispatch or Despatch Rider helmet designated DR Steel Mk 1. Steel shell. Liner is British made by Backstay Standard, BS marked on liner, 1944 (44) dated, Size 7 1/4. Clear C broad arrow stamped in black paint on the steel shell as shown. Complete, leather is supple and in great condition. The Steel Mk 1 Canadian helmet model is less common and detailed in Tin Lids by Roger Lucy.
