Original German Reichs Commission Revolver of 1879, first pattern with long 7 inch barrel. Used from 1879 to 1908 when replaced by the P08 Luger. Maker mark on left side of frame is the Suhl consortium of three firms that manufactured this revolver in Prussia, Bavaria and Saxony namely S&S (Spangenberg & Sauer), VCS (V.C Schilling & Cie) and CGH (C.G. Haenel & Cie). The steel butt cap is regimentally marked twice with the first being stroked out with “X” marking. Clearly represented in photos with this listing. Bore is poor with corrosion visible, faint rifling. 10.6 x 25R cartridge is obsolete making this an Antique Handgun in Canada. No license required to purchase or own.
