Description

Privately purchased variant of the Model 1871 rifle bayonet worn by officers on official occasions and “walking out”. Not meant for mounting on a rifle. Blade length 456mm (18 3/8 inches), overall 579mm (22 ¾ inches). Blade is decorated with ornately rolled on etching and spine is marked Clemen & Jung Solingen. Brass handle is missing latch screw. Scabbard is missing locket, otherwise intact but fragile.
