Description

This is an original round, empty and inert. Used with the Pak 38 anti-tank gun. Frequently called 5 cm Arrowhead ammunition, it is essentially a tungsten core with ballistic cap and mild steel body. It resembles the squeeze bore ammunition in shape of projectile The British and Americans would call this a sabot round. The projectile has been removed, case emptied and reseated firmly at the first flange in the sabot so that the arrowhead design is evident. Marked INERT near the base and also scratched into the side of the casing, no doubt done in the field at time of capture.
