Flintlock musket military private purchase with matching bayonet

39 inch barrel, overall length 55 inches. Bore is .70 inch with flattened bump at muzzle as shown in photo. Bore is clear with uniform patina of corrosion. Flat lock plate with beveled edges maker marked “Noon”. Well made and very attractive lock parts. Strong spring, positive half and full cock, strong release. Stock is slim and light weight with oval escutcheon plate engraved 94. Butt tang is fancy with engraving including shield and stand of colours, which is repeated on the left side plate. Stock attached to barrel using 3 domed wedges. Four ramrod pipes, all are fancy, 1 and 2 are ribbed and flared. Two proofs on barrel are unclear. Stock damage on left side near front is visible and repair is well done. Touch hole has been repaired. Barrel has slight bend to left. Sling is likely a very well made reproduction. This is a well cared for period musket probably volunteer militia private purchase. We have not removed the barrel or lock for inspection. Sold as is. Comes with bayonet and scabbard. Bayonet maker marked DAWES and is of the Brown Bess pattern. Blade 17 1/4 inches, overall 21 1/4 inches. Socket is 4 inches long, fits the rifle perfectly and is number 94 matching the escutcheon plate number. . Scabbard leather in very good condition. Metal fittings are non ferrous, non magnetic.
