Description

Barrel length 42 inches, .75 inch bore. Lock plate TOWER with Crown over GR and Board of Ordnance mark. Markings are unclear from wear. Teardrop frizzen spring end. Strong spring, positive half and full cock, strong release. Left sideplate is flat with tail. Butt stock has Crown/GR stamping on right side and initials scratched into the wood. Barrel attached to stock with round pins, repair visible to pin holes. Bore is very good, clear with some shine and uniform light corrosion. Four ramrod pipes, not flared. Steel ramrod. Stock has wrist escutcheon plate and nosecap. Four clear proofs on top of barrel. Bore condition is clear with areas of severe corrosion. Very nice example of Short Land Pattern musket. Used by re-enactor and comes with brass flash guard, leather frizzen protector and very well made reproduction sling. We have not removed the barrel or lock for inspection. Sold as is.
