One of a kind item. Hat/umbrella/cane stand for officer’s mess or gentleman’s club custom made from three India Pattern Brown Bess muskets. All original including hand blacksmithing of fittings. One Bess is Tower marked and two others are the rare Ramsay Sutherland versions as ordered by the province of New Brunswick for volunteer militia forces circa 1820. Locks work. Each has original, removable socket bayonet with tip modified and round ball added to hang hat, etc. Muzzle plugs are hand turned hardwood and are removable. Centre pole has round top plate fitted and another round plate sits on the floor at the bottom of the stand for umbrella or cane tips. NOTE: the muskets have holes drilled through the barrel to construct the three rifle stand. Truly an amazing item.
