Used with naval star shell (illumination) or anti-aircraft shell throughout WWII. It was a standard time combustion fuze. Complete with brass cover that screws on to protect the fuze in transit. Empty and inert. Good condition with some denting on cover as shown in photo. Missing nose screw on fuze.
