Original socket bayonet to fit Pattern 1839 rifle including Lovell catch. Blade is uniformly pitted and some markings are still visible including British proof Crown/B and number (not legible). Maker S. Gill faintly visible as are two “X” markings and WG at the base of the blade. Brass mounted leather scabbard is in very good condition.
