British No. 8 Bayonet RARE
$495.00
The No. 8 bayonet looks very much like the No. 5 bayonet with the knife like blade of that era but the muzzle ring diameter is 14.8mm as opposed to 22.6mm on the No. 5. It was developed for the 7.92 SLEM (Self Loading Experimental Model) rifle but was never adopted and is classed as a trials bayonet. This specimen has a P for Poole maker marked in the ricasso and dated 1946. It has seen considerable use/abuse and the tip is broken as shown in photo. Nevertheless, it is a rare bayonet by its mere existence.
