British Model 1879 Artillery Sawback bayonet

Long sawback bayonet for the Martini Henry artillery carbine. Manufactured by Enfield (RSAF Enfield) and dated 11/82 it has a very faint Crown VR on the left ricasso and a Birmingham proof with date .00 (1900). Enfield proof on the spine. Large steel D shaped handguard with external bayonet catch spring in hard rubber hand grip. Sawback blade is in very good condition. Blade length 25 7/8 inches (655mm), overall 31 3/8 inches (795mm). Muzzle ring 17mm. Steel mounted leather scabbard also very good. Very interesting British bayonet
