Frequently referred to as Indian Allies or 1813 Indian Contract pistols this is an example of the British Ordnance department using various Birmingham based manufacturers to produce a British Ordnance pistol that was given to the indigenous people in Canada to strengthen Britian’s defence of Canada during the War of 1812. Barrel 9 inches, overall 15 inches. Bore .65 inch smoothbore, clear with signs of corrosion. Lock maker marked Hampton with crown and arrow ordnance mark. Barrel has two British proof marks and one on barrel tang. Strong spring and works well on full and half cock. Very researchable and uniquely Canadian.
