Description

Brass mounted leather scabbard with clear markings on the leather including sold out of service mark, broad arrow over WD, proof marking and date ’98 (1896). 23 inches long with round/oval frog button located high on the locket. Missing wire that connects locket to leather scabbard body so locket is loose but firmly attached. Thought to be for Brunswick bayonet, tried and fits but does not seat completely, leaving about 2 inches short of full seating. Perhaps for different model bayonet. Research required.
