British Officer’s mess bell consisting of two brass cases hung from a mounting shelf and including a wooden mallet used to strike the cases. One case engraved “Boer Shell Battle Belfast” and is a 75mm Krupp QF gun casing marked Berndorf 1895”. The other case is engraved “English Shell Ashanti” and is a 75m (12 ½ pounder) Vickers Maxim casing marked with VS&M stamping in circle for Vicker Sons & Maxim. Very unique British officer’s mess souvenir item.
