Socket bayonet for Brown Bess type musket produced by East India company for Indian army use. No mark on blade except for small “x”. Brass mounted leather scabbard has markings on the leather but nothing on the brass. Scabbard in good condition but cracked through near chape and ready to come apart so must be handled carefully. 20 inches overall, 16 3/16 inch blade, 4 inch socket. Muzzle ring is 23mm diameter. Locking ringn added during production. Fits Brown Bess India pattern rifle very tightly. Interesting period variant.
