Designed for the British Pattern 1853 Enfield rifled musket, it also fits others including the Snider Enfield conversion of the above rifle. Thumbnail type fuller. Ricasso has 3 line Enfield inspection stamp. Blade in Very Good original condition. Brass mounted leather scabbard is the early type, manufactured 1853 – 1860, with separate frog stud and locket secured by indentations and shellac. Seam is on side of scabbard instead of on the back. Very good condition. Not marked. Correct scabbard for use on P1853 Enfield rifle.
