The British Royal Navy contract of 1914 saw Mk II bayonets for the Mk III rifle purchased directly from the Ross Rifle company inventory. Bayonet has the ricasso marked with British broad arrow and RSAF Enfield 3 line inspectors mark (crown over inspector’s number over E). No scabbard with this specimen. Information on this uncommon variant Ross bayonet is scarce and not entirely clear but one reference is British Secondary Small Arms by A.Edwards.
