Designed for the British Pattern 1853 rifle musket, it also fits others including the Snider Enfield conversion of the above rifle. Thumbnail type fuller. Ricasso has 3-line Enfield inspection stamp. Socket has regimental marking or rack numbering and some severe pitting on one side as shown in photo. Blade in Very Good original condition. Brass mounted leather scabbard in good condition. Leather is very faintly marked and not clear but would be British broad arrow and WD.
