Description

Lock marked Crown over VR, 1858 Enfield. Top of breech II*. Stock cartouche is still visible and DC in diamond on opposite side of butt stock. This musket has seen considerable use and would fit nicely in a Fenian Raids museum. Extensive exterior wear and tear including corrosion and characteristic wearing away of the stock at the breech from repeated firing. Bore is corroded. Hammer works and has strong spring. No cleaning rod. Interesting display-only example.
