1855 Lancaster’s Patent. .577. Lock marked Lancaster’s Patent. Top of barrel very faintly marked 151 New Bond St. London, difficult to read as the metalwork has been varnished over. The barrel length is 31.75 inches (80.5 cm) and the overall length of the rifle is 47 ½ inches (120.5 cm). Smooth bore is good, shiny with patches of corrosion visible. Hammer cocks reliably, strong spring. Bayonet lug is correct for British Pattern 1856 Yataghan bayonet with leading tab. Complete with ramrod. Comes with tags attached from Ed Demby Military Antiques of Toronto.
