Description

Original cast resin copy of Colt M16A1 rifle with original steel barrel that mounts M7 bayonet (included). These training devices were made by larger US Army bases for training purposes. Some copies were all resin (plastic) and would not mount a bayonet or sling. This specimen has steel barrel and sling swivels. An original US M7 bayonet manufacuted by GENCUT with M10 scabbard and black military nylon sling has been added. Markings on butt stock TASO-FG is Training Aids Support Organization – Fort Gordon (Georgia). D9-1109 is unknown, possibly contract number or production run. DVC-T7 -83 is suspected to mean Device T7 and date 1983.  Receiver casting has Colt logo visible and Colt AR-15 as well as PROPERTY OF US GOVT M16A1. Even the serial number of the original rifle from which this was cast is visible.
