Mauser Model 1871 carbine manufactured under contract by Austrian company Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft (Steyr) marked on top of barrel Oesterr.Wafffb.Ges. German/Prussian acceptance markings throughout. Matching serial numbers. No regimental marking on butt tang. A transitional time, post Franco Prussian war as Imperial Germany was rearming with help from contracts during 1870’s with Austria. Dated 1876, superb condition. Bore is very good, strong rifling with some darkening. Cal. 11 x 60R (.43 Mauser), single shot. Antique rifle, no license required to purchase.
