Stielhandgranate 1916. Early model stick grenade with large canister. Wooden handle has screw cap with ceramic ball attached to igniter string. Canister cap is removable as shown with remnants of the detonator. Some original paint remains on canister. Partial marking on wood handle “5 ½ Sec..” with maker marking on the opposite side as shown in photos. This is an extraordinary example of this model Imperial German grenade.
