This pattern is identified by 2 large rivets with cleanout hole to the rear of the back rivet. Fits Lee Metford and Long Lee Enfield rifles with hole in pommel to take cleaning tod. Maker marked Wilkinson, London and dated 10 ’96 (October 1896). Opposite side has broad arrow WD with partial proof mark visible and X bend mark. Double edge blade is in GOOD condition with some corrosion evident. No scabbard has survived with this example.
