Description

Second Pattern 1859 naval bayonet with cross hatching pattern impressed into the hard leather grips. Unfullered blade 27 inches long and bayonet is 32 ½ inches overall length. Made on contract by German blade maker Weyersberg Bros. and bears their knight’s head logo as well as Solingen proofs Crown over S over 18. Original, in very good condition with some corrosion marks on blade as shown in photo. Steel mounted leather scabbard is very good condition with age patina on steel parts. Leather is faintly proofed, difficult to see in photo.
