Description

A short sword alternative to the longer Shaska sabre this was used by machine gunners and artillery crewmen and saw extensive use in World War One. Factory marked with date 1917 on one side of blade. Illegible marking and the letter A with a small crown above on the other side. Blade is in good condition, sharpened, some corrosion evident and no nicks. Scabbard is black leather covered wood with brass fittings and is in very good condition with an area of nicks on the curve as shown in photo. Guaranteed original.
