Description

One of the first batch of helmets supplied by the British to American forces upon entry into WW1. Raw edge, British style split rivet holds chinstrap wire bale. Inside of shell maker stamped D/F 30. No chinstrap. Fabric pad with some leather strap remaining at crown.  Front of helmet bears US 27^th Infantry Division insignia.
