The 1903 Pattern bayonet was used with the Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk III (SMLE) rifle from 1903 until 1907 when the Pattern 1907 bayonet was adopted. The 1903 bayonet used the Pattern 1888 blade design with a pommel that fit the SMLE. This specimen comes in the very uncommon early P1903 leather scabbard with internal chape and two piece riveted belt hanger. Ricasso maker marked SANDERSON. Leather scabbard is in very good condition and well marked.
