Early model 1868 Pioneer sawback bayonet designed for the Belgian Terssen rifle then used with the M1870 Comblain rifle. Very heavy blade with sawback for Pioneer troops. This example dated 1875 on ricasso with serial number V2381 on crossguard. Belgian maker marks on both sides of blade including GB for “Gouvernement Belge” (Belgian Army Service). Original brass mounted leather scabbard Marked V 1888 with serial number 330. Blade is very good condition with some spots of rust staining.
