German WW1 Kommandantur Lille Flare pistol

Original German World War 1 Erzatz (substitute) Flare pistol manufactured in Belgium and used by the Germans during WW1. Stocked at supply depot Lille (occupied) France, hence the name and marking in the wood grip “Kdtur, Lille” . Continued to be used in WW2 by the Wehrmacht. Uses 1 inch flares, single shot, original and in very good condition for a front line item. There were at least 2 variants of this pistol. This specimen does not have the more common push button barrel release on the right hand side and the barrel appears to be held in place by friction only.
