Featured on the front is a gilt and silver cap badge of the Royal Marines Band Portsmouth. The cap badge is a flaming grenade superimposed with the royal cypher of King George V (GRV) surrounded by laurel leaves. It was ordered into use by King George V in 1911. Above the cap badge is Queen Elizabeth II’s royal cypher (EIIR) in silver.
