Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk III* Peddled Scheme SMLE
Lee Enfield .22 inch Mark IV*
Lee Enfield Sht. LE Coverted .303 Mk IV
Prior to start of production of the well known No. 1 Mk III or SMLE rifle, No. 1 (Long Lee Enfield) rifles and carbines were converted to the new SMLE pattern and designated Sht. LE ConD with “ConD” meaning “converted” and the Mark following in Roman Numerals, as II or IV. This specimen is the 1907 Mk IV conversion series and started life as an 1897 Enfield produced No.1 Mk 1 rifle. Bolt and barrel serial numbers match the receiver. This rifle has had considerable Australian exposure with Aussie star on rear sight protector, OA on butt plate tang and an Aussie nose cap assembly. Very good condition overall and an interesting Lee Enfield variant for the advanced collector.
