Lee Enfield No. 4 Mark 1 DCRA rifle
Lee Enfield No1 Mk III*
Kar 98k AZ Polish refurbished Spanish Civil War use
This is an example of the very popular German WWI short Mauser carbine with small ring receiver, stock extending almost to muzzle, hinged front band and integral stacking hook. After WWI these rifles were disbursed to various entente countries and this has been arsenal refurbished at that time. Crest and all markings removed from receiver (scrubbed). Stock marked in barrel channel with serial number of receiver during rebuild. Other numbers do not match – bolt, magazine floorplate. Retains correct stacking hook. Stock has external sling swivels indicative of possible Polish use and sling mounting bar on left side of stock, no bolt disassembly washer in the stock. Bolt knob is marked with small “z” in circle. Buttstock has faint mark that appears to be a flaming bomb with MP over 8 inside indicating Spanish Civil War use. Bore is poor, dark with pitting.
