Also known as Enfield P1853 Artillery Carbine 2^nd Model because of many minor improvements to the earlier P1853 carbine. Most obvious is the bayonet mounting bar on the barrel not having the extended guide bar which required the extended slot on the bayonet to mount on the P1853 model carbine. Lock is marked Crown over VR, Enfield 1862. Barrel is 24 inches, 3 groove rifling and bore in very good condition. Rear sight has two leaves 200, 300 yards. Complete with original proof marked cleaning rod and nipple protector.
