		<title>Austrian 1849 Saber blade socket bayonet</title>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Used on the Austrian Model 1849 Kammerbuchse (chambered rifle). Socket has long "L" shaped mounting slot and heavy adjustable rear locking ring. Many of these bayonets were used on Austrian rifles purchased by the US Ordnance Department for the US Civil War. Blade length 23 5/8 inches and fullered on both sides with false edge extending about 6 inches from tip. Overall length 28 inches. Socket length 4 ¼ inches. Muzzle ring is 24mm. Original condition with uniform light rust patina. No scabbard.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Issued and used bayonet fits Lee Metford or Lee Enfield No. 1 rifles. Mk I Second type with cleanout hole in handle and hole in pommel to take cleaning rod. Crown over VR marked, 4, ‘95 original date (April 1895) with numerous proofs and other dates of modification showing the travels of this bayonet. Maker Wilkinson, London. Opposite side shows Broad arrow over WD with Wilkinson proof and bend mark. Comes in British general service buff leather frog.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Original Imperial German WW1 bayonet. Second pattern, newer model or n/A (neuer Art) with two piece wooden grip. Made to fit the GEW 98 World War One German infantry rifle.  Maker marked C. G. Spine clearly marked Crown over W for Wilhelm II and the date 1916 (16) and inspection stamp. Pipeback/quillback style blade in very bood condition. Steel mounted leather scabbard is in very good condition with a bulging area about midway which could indicate being bent at this point. Leather frog is unmarked. An iconic and very interesting German WW1 bayonet in very good condition.</p>
