Brown Bess Short Land Musket Reproduction
Pattern 1853 London Armoury Co. Percussion Musket
Uncommon Pattern 1853 musket manufactured by London Armoury Co. Bermondsey, dated 1862 on the stock cartouche. Lock plate has the crown over V.R. but no other British military marking or proofs on the musket. The proofs on the barrel are LAC in house marks. The stock cartouche is on the left side of the buttstock instead of the customary right side. This is very likely a commercially manufactured P1853 rifled musket for US Civil War use. Condition is excellent with minor handling marks. Bore is excellent, bright with lots of rifling. Antique, no licence required to purchase or own.
