British Pattern 1839 Percussion Musket

CA$3,495.00
The Pattern 1839 Musket was the first percussion infantry long arm to be widely issued by the British military and was in reality an updated Brown Bess India Pattern. Eg. Third Model Brown Bess. Many of the P1839 percussion muskets were made from Brown Bess India Pattern surplus parts. Overall length 59 inches, barrel is 39 inches, .075 inch calibre (smoothbore). Lovell pattern bayonet catch and original ramrod. Lock is VR marked Enfield manufacture, not dated. British proofs on barrel. There appears to have been a stamping, cartouche or marking on the butt that has been removed. A very nice example of this uncommon percussion musket. Antique, no licence required to purchase or own. US collectors can have this shipped directly to their home addresses without import permit.
