Original WWI rum jug in original wicker cover. Red paint band visible around diameter of wicker indicates issue. These jugs were purposed to carry different commodities. Wicker covered jugs were usually not marked with the SRD stencil on the actual crockery jug which was an abbreviation for Supply Reserve Depot. Very researchable.
