An example of the bewildering variation of bayonets used on light infantry weapons of the American wars era. Appears to be a Brown Bess pattern bayonet scaled down to be much shorter than standard patterns which means it was likely used on carbine length firearms such as a Brown Bess carbine, British Light Infantry carbine or Dragoon Fusil. Blade is 300mm, overall length 370mm. Socket 76mm long, and diameter 20.5mm at front. Blade width 23.4mm. Only markings on ricasso are partial that looks like RIDE over a G. An interesting mystery.
