British Martini-Henry Mk. I Cavalry Carbine. 577/.450 Martini-Henry, 21 1/4″ barrel with a very good condition bore, bright with strong rifling. Crown over VR, Enfield, 1885 dated receiver. Marked with the IC1 designation which stands for Interchangeable Carbine Mark 1. The use of this carbine was “interchangeable” between Cavalry and Artillery units, hence the name. Top of receiver marked with S.X. for strengthened extractor. Broad arrow/WD marked on butt tang and front band. Numerous proof marks on barrel and front left shoulder of receiver. Overall, very good condition with small bumps and bruises to be expected. Note the patch of corrosion on rear of the left side of receiver. Comes with white buff sling, no markings visible.
